Global Security through nuclear weapons?

Earlier this year the Doomsday Clock was moved to 2 minutes to midnight, the same as it was at the height of the Cold War, in 1953. Nuclear proliferation, rogues states and terrorists, and reckless rhetoric have brought nuclear weapons back into the headlines. At the same time, 122 nations voted at the UN General Assembly for a treaty to prohibit nuclear weapons. Is this a pipe dream? Have nuclear weapons actually helped to maintain international security? Are we closer than ever to nuclear catastrophe? An expert panel will examine the current situation and provide an outlook.
