According to a Japanese tradition, the person who folds 1000 origami paper cranes is granted a wish. Since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the paper crane has become a symbol for peace.

Exhibition visitors were encouraged to produce a crane, or two, and to place it in the exhibition. Instruction sheets were provided at the exhibition venues.

Download crane folding instructions.
